NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME:

The NSS units of Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya run under the leadership of Prof. Satyaki Poddar, Prof. Prof. Amaresh Pramanik, Prof. Binoy Krishna Hazra & Prof Vivekananda Majilla are among the best units of it’s kind among the other sister units of other colleges under the university of Burdwan  prof.  Goswami of our college is a leading activist & reputed author of two books on ‘Social Engineering’ & ‘Greenery’ & has delivered more than hundred lectures on these issues through out India.

Our NSS Programme Officers Prof. Vivekananda Majilla, Prof. Amaresh Pramanik, Prof. binoy Krishna Hazra and Prof. Satwaki Poddar all are trying their best towards attaining a new peak of development with different type of NSS activities.

Following are the same directive the college NSS, in collaboration with several organizations organized a ‘Sabuj Mela’ in the vicinity of Nawabhat, Burdwan, which was inaugurated by the Minister-in-charge of Horticulture, Dr. Rabiranjan Chattopadhyay, the then Minister-in-charge Science and Technology of Education was present at the concluding ceremony and appreciated the Green Movement the institutions want to give birth.

Other than organizing regular NSS camps, the college is running the following projects:

  1. Thalassemia Detection & Awareness camps are being organized on a continual basis.
  2. The NSS units of the college have taken up the responsibility of extensive plantation in and outside the college campus & we are proud that the maintenance work is being ably monitored by our volunteers.
  3. College NSS volunteer last year Participated in a National Integration Camp held at Tamilnadu with the leadership of Programme Officer Vivekananda Majilla.
  4. College NSS units organized & celebrated Vivekanada’s birth day as ‘Youth Day’ on 12th January, Republic Day Ceremony on 26th January. 100 volunteers including women participated in this auspicious.
  5. Our adopted villages (ex) Nabagram continuously communicate with us.
  6. Every year the college NSS units organize the blood group detection programme mainly for the new 1st year students.
  7. Every year the NSS units observed the Non-violence Day the 2nd October & also the 12th January as Youth Day

All of the volunteers & the common students also participated in these auspicious events
