In 1964, Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya received affiliation from The University of Burdwan. In the same year the College became a Govt. Sponsored College. During that time, teaching-learning of Geography started. Indeed, General Degree Course in Geography in our department started since 1980.After a long gap of 15 years, B.A. /B.Sc. Geography Honours Degree Course in the department started in the year 1995 with initial intake capacity of 15 students.

• To provide knowledge about Geography through theoretical studies and practical studies.

• To create awareness towards human - environment deep interrelation.
• To make them in acquaintance with geospatial tools and techniques.
